Francisco Diez
Originally from the city of Puebla, Mexico, he studied classical dance for two years at BUAP, with his mentor and teacher Antonio Montañez. Following this, he studied in Mexico City´s prestigious academies for a period of 5 years, learning Jazz, Tap and Ballroom, which he later taught at Becon's Field Dance School in Montreal, Canada. While living and working in Canada, he used the opportunity to also study English and French. His love for Latin dance took him to Argentina, where he continued his dance training and studies in Tango.
He began his professional on-stage career at the tender age of 16, participating in a dance contest with his cousin on National Television called "Viva la Música Viva", winning the contest as "Best Dance Duo", and later becoming a resident dancer on the TV station “TV3”. This gave him the opportunity to work on a tour as Choreographer/Dancer with the singer "Fabby".
In 1994, he travelled to Paris, France appearing as a dancer in the original cast of "La Légende des Cinq Soleils" in the theatre “Cirque d'hiver Bouglione”. On his return to Mexico, he worked as a dancer at luxury hotels which included Marival - Nuevo Vallarta, Riu Palace Mexico - Playa del Carmen, the Fairmont - Acapulco, and once again for the Fairmont Hotel and Resorts in Vancouver, Canada.
His credits as an “extra” in films include: “One Love” 2009 (Montreal Film Festival, Canada) and “On the Road” 2013 (Mexico). He also appeared in TV commercials for Budweiser, Volkswagen, and the Puebla Chamber of Commerce.
His international career eventually led him to work in the cruise ship industry, where he took to the high seas and performed in many production shows, with companies such as Sun Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line (2001-2003). While there, he also worked as a choreographer under the supervision of the famed Broadway choreographer Sergio Trujillo. Later he flew to Los Angeles CA, to begin rehearsals with Princess Cruises as a dancer on their production shows, were he worked from 2003 to 2014, playing lead roles in more than 20 of their highly acclaimed stage shows, such as Piano man, Undercover, Curtain Up, British Invasion, Stardust, Motor City etc. During his time with Princess Cruises, he was promoted and worked as the Assistant Company Manager, maintaining the quality of the onboard production shows. He also enjoyed working directly with the passengers as the Dance Teacher in the passenger activities program.
After 14 years at sea and seeing the need for high-quality specialised entertainment services in Mexico, Francisco established the recruitment company ERS Hospitality in 2021, combining his experience in the luxury hotel and the cruise industries.
